AHRA Recognizes Award Recipients for Ground-Breaking Achievements in Radiology Management

The AHRA 2024 Annual Meeting Bestows Fellow Designation and Achievement Awards to Gifted Medical Imaging Management Experts

WASHINGTON, DC — AHRA: The Association of Medical Imaging Management announced its award recipients for their achievements in medical imaging management, healthcare administration and the professional association. In each of the respective achievement awards, fellow designations and scholarships, AHRA recognized medical imaging professionals for their impact on the field as well as their meaningful contributions to AHRA.

“This year’s AHRA award recipients showcase an incredible lineup of innovative pioneers in medical imaging management,” said AHRA President Mario Pistilli, FACHE, CRA. “We want to thank everyone for their valuable contributions and support to make AHRA an inclusive and robust community that fuels the vital progress towards shaping better patient care and the advancement of modern medicine.”

The 2024 AHRA Achievement Awards awarded 23 total recipients for achievements and contributions to AHRA and the field of medical imaging. The association recognized AHRA past president Chris C. Tomlinson, CRA, FAHRA with the Jim Conway Gold Award, which is AHRA’s highest honor, conferred for his significant contributions to the profession of imaging and healthcare administration.

AHRA Immediate Past President Becky Allen, CRA recognized Mary Mahoney, MD with the AHRA President’s Award for her impact on Allen’s career, professional development, mentorship and friendship. The award recognizes the value of leadership and fellowship for providing guidance and encouragement.

Beekley Medical was honored as a winner for AHRA’s Innovation Showcase for their CaraClip™ wire protector, a Sterile adhesive device that securely contains guidewires, catheters and sheaths/tubing accessories within the sterile field during interventional and surgical procedures. Beekley Medical specializes in products that help breast health, CT, MRI, radiation oncology, diagnostic, and interventional radiology professionals improve communication, efficacy, productivity, and patient care.

Additionally, AHRA honored three authors as selected by their peers with the Radiology Management Gary Boyd Editorial Award for their contributions developing a feature article and column for AHRA’s peer-reviewed professional journal, Radiology Management.

AHRA recognized five members with an award for their excellence and leadership in medical imaging, and five members were bestowed an AHRA Fellow designation. Lastly, ten members received the Osborn Scholarship and the AHRA Annual Meeting Scholarship, awarded by the AHRA Education Foundation, to support their participation in this year’s Annual Meeting.
